Little Teacher'sÔ main objective is to create a unique and comprehensive language learning system specifically developed for building a preschool child’s language skills naturally and effortlessly through example and play. The fundamental premise for our products arises from the fact that the best time to learn a new language is during early childhood. And, since no classroom is better than the world around us, Little Teacher’s goal is to inspire the minds of our future global citizens to optimize on these easy and convenient learning opportunities. Providing parents and educators with the tools
and methods to guide a child’s independent curiosity for learning
languages, the Kindergarten KitÔ
comes with an electronic book, an audio CD, a video, flash cards and
workbooks to reinforce the learning of English through multiple forms
of media. Each of the
thoughtfully compiled components in the Kit reinforce the pedagogical content from a different and
fun perspective. For example,
the storybook utilizes the same phrases from the electronic voice
book. But, it uses the
phrases in the context of the story, so that the child will know how
the phrase can be used in a real situation.
Furthermore, the CD of fun and interactive songs similarly
revolves around the same theme. This form of subtle variation on
fundamentally a restricted set of inputs promotes mastery of use. Recommended for children ages 3 to 7 years old,
the Kindergarten Kit’sÔ
level of difficulty can be tailored according to the individual
child’s own skills so siblings can
easily share the same kit and derive different benefits from it.
In completing all of the rotations recommended in the Kit, a
student will develop the confidence to communicate
in the new language and therefore the motivation to continue learning
with enthusiasm. Little TeacherÔ was founded by Sophia Shing who is a graduate of Stanford University and Harvard Business School. She worked in high tech venture capital as well as taught entrepreneurship as an assistant professor before launching Little TeacherÔ. She has also served as a judge for several business plan contests and believes very much in supporting entrepreneurship.
